OT: Treasure Hunt

OK, this is waaay off topic....(these seemed to be tolerated on the old forum)...but I've been investigating an old unsolved US treasure hunt called "The Secret" (see here).

Since I'm in the UK, and the puzzle is 30 yrs old, it's quite tricky, and I'd appreciate any feedback on some ideas from someone more local. So if you're remotely interested and nearby San Fransisco / Charleston / Roanoke / New Orleans / Montreal / Boston or New York, give us a shout...
