What was the fix for the bit crackling again?

Hi!

I got a second spare d8b, I remember changing something on my first console to get rid of the "dithering" or "Bit noise" as a signal fades out. I cannot for the life of me find any information on it. I can't remember if it was a setting or a hack of some sort. Just remember I did it.

Does anyone remember off the top of their head?
