d8b service center

Postby RBI-Rocks » Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:09 am

Hi! I'm a long time old mackie forum member and just joined here. I posted the
following over there and I'm re-posting it here:
My 12 year old d8b has developed the dreaded rail cap failure.
Does anyone know of the nearest place to Houston, Tx that services d8b's? Thanks.

Hi Joe,

hopefully you are handy with a soldering iron or got a technician that is.
In that case read the database, cause you don´t need Mackie support:

The topic to look after is:

Rail Capacitor: Identification

Hope that`ll help a solution.

Thanks, Manfred.
I had already read that on the database. Unfortunately, while I'm good at soldering xlr and trs cables, circuit board soldering is way out of my league, and I don't know any techs that can do it. I need to find a service center that can fix my d8b without screwing up anything else.
