A bit more on your set up would be helpful. What type of midi interface are you using what DAW are you using. I personally don't use HUI mode but if a bit more info were given about your setup someone should be able to help.

¿Where do you get that error message?
¿How do you have all the gear connected?
¿Do you get any MIDI activity in the d8b at all?

i get that error message in pro tools and as far as the hook up from the d8b cpu i'm running the midi in's and out's to the in's and out's on the midi timepiece and the usb connection straight to the computer. Now any other gear i connect using midi i would run directly to the timepiece. when i do this the hui mode works when i slide the faders on the d8b the sliders in pro tools move but when i slide the faders in pro tools the faders on the d8b won't move and that when i get the massage it can't communicate with the hui something about power cycle and to update pariphiales to not get any warning msgs in the future. And in the VDF it saying the hui is offline and that's when my computer hangs up. Could i not have the settings correct? I do go in to setup and make my changes, but still nothing i would really like to get it working thanks

It looks like you have the problem inside your DAW.

However you should triple check your cables between the console and the DAW.

I don't use Protools so I can't help you with the setup, sorry.

I'd suggest to cut down your configuration to the bare essentials for troubleshooting (e.g. the 003R and the D8B with the Timepiece, for a start). If you can get it working then add further devices one by one, to see which one is causing the problem.

If it doesn't work with this setup, then I think you'll have a hard time to find the solution. I'm recommending to use the 003R as a start because it allows you to run PT but does not have any controls that I can remember, so hardly any chance to interfere with HUI. Cancel that if I'm mistaken. My guess would be some conflict between the 002 controls and the D8B HUI allocation. Some reconfiguration will probably solve your problem, but troubleshooting this one remotely would be quite a challenge...

Good luck fixing this!

ok then lets forget about the 003R lets try this with the motu 2408mk3 the D8B and logic pro 8 would that be a lot easier to make the hui work?

then let me ask this question what would be that best gear to use to get this all working?
