Hey Y-My-R and Arjepsen;

Can you supply details on the Floppy Emulators you purchased (there are a lot of them out there), and the Compact Flash card and other related hardware? Specifically the hardware that the CF connects to.

I would like to do the switch on both these but unsure of what to look for.

Also, I am looking at trying a CF as a removable drive for the HDR so if you have tried that and have any experience that would also be helpful.

Cheers
Bruce

For the floppy emulator - last year I bought this one through amazon:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01 ... UTF8&psc=1
Haven't used it recently, but I think it worked just fine.
Here's a link to a thread in here, where I describe the installation process - it's the same for the HDR as for the D8B:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1376

As for the CF stuff:
I'd suggest getting one of those that can be seated in one of the expansion slots on the back - makes it easy to change the CF card - of course this is more important on the HDR, but it also makes it easy to backup, or reinstall the D8B, should the need arise.
Here's the one I bought a few of:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/DeLock-Compact ... pact+flash
I've seen that same model offered from various companies, so it doesn't have to be from "DeLock". I think it will work fine if it looks the same.

For the CF cards themselves:

For the D8B your biggest problem will be finding a small CF card. A 1Gb card will be more than enough. I ended up with a 4Gb one, becuase that was what I could find. Dont spend money on fast cards for the D8B. I think this was the one I got:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Verbatim-Compa ... d+verbatim

For the HDR it's a little more tricky - here you actually want a speedy one, but it still has to be compatible.
Someone else in here had good experiences with the Sandisk Extreme, which is also what I bought:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sandisk-128GB- ... pact+flash
They cost a bit, but if you've upgraded the bios, you can use these. Otherwise you can the smaller 30gb ones.
They work nicely, and changing cards is easy.

Hope it all helps.

/Anders
