Try this. Go to the MASTER CHANNEL fat channel window by pressing the MASTER select button on the lower right area of the console. Double click the "Select" button in the MASTER section of the console. Make sure that the PRE- and POST- insert are assigned to "NONE". This can also be achieved by creating a BRAND NEW session. But... I have had similar issues when routing the Final Mix plugin to the Master Bus and then removing the plug-in from the Plug In window. When you delete from the PlugIn window, it doesnt normalize the Master section to "NONE" Sometimes the MASTER PRE- and POST- will be routed to an EMPTY Plug In channel. If there is no Plug In assigned to the Plug In slot, a zero-routing will occur. You will need to set MASTER PRE- and POST- insert to "NONE". Try that. If that does not solve the issue, create a new session, and follow the SPOON FED details. Those instructions work just fine with a fresh session. Once you get your fresh setup, make THAT your startus session.

Hope that helps... some!

Thanks for the input guys. I erased the "startup sessions". It was 2-3 of them and I rebooted with a brand new session. What I'm doing is plugging my MPC stereo outs into channel 1 &2 on the D8B with the settings from the manual. It's still not reading on the meters nor do I hear anything.

I used the "2 Track In" and audio works (no meters) with my monitors plugged into Near Field, Main, and CR (All I tested). When I use line inputs, no audio or meters work. Only hear sound from the "2 Track In"

Did you disable "Load Last Session At Power Up"?

The only other thing that springs to mind is that the Word Clock card is faulty.

Yeah I disabled it. So if my card I'd faulty, is there a way to test that?

Not really. If you know someone with a known working one you could try that.

Have you tried plugging the MPC into something other than channels 1&2? Like 9&10 (2nd faderboard) or 13&14 (non-mic pre)? Same thing? No channel or master meter activity? No audio being heard?

Just a guess...as this has happened to me on occasion: vigorously exercise the Mic/Line buttons. Over an extended period of non-use, they can just crap out. clicking them on and off a few dozen times brings 'em back.

Sorry for the dumb question: do you have MIC/LINE selected in the vicinity of the monitor level control (to the left, slightly up) and have you raised the corresponding channel's fader when plugging into one of the line inputs?

If so and you get no level meter activity on any of the channels mentioned by Frank you might have a bigger problem, away from the channel inputs.

I'll do that. I'm familiar with mixers and all but I'm not sure what's going on now. I got meters once from my MPC and Fantom. Powered down, rebooted, no meters or sound. This was the only time I had sound and meters working. Seems like a short
