Finally!

Postby yeskeys » Fri Mar 12, 2010 4:25 pm

I finally got my d8b and hdr up and running. What an awesome system. Nothing like the first time you draw some curves and the faders play back. It was pretty cool the first time!

So...I have my midi going both ways. Is the HDR sending MTC to the d8b? It does the conversion from it's own 'timecode' to MTC, that I can use to drive my sequencer, etc?
Is it ever necessary to run word clock both ways? (i'm using the d8b as the clock master).
I don't suppose I can use my digital AES/SPDIF I/O board as an input for tracking....?

Right now I'm using lightpipe between two DIO cards. Can a DIO card interface with an OPT8 card with no issues?

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to a long an fruitful pile of sessions with this rig. Guess I'm old skool switching from PT to this but it just 'feels' better to me....like my old Otari 24 trk! I'm recording my own stuff...no clients so I can take my time to absorb all the nuances.

Hi Eric. Well done!

If you want to know all the idiosyncrasies the in and out cards have take a look at this section in the Database.

Have a nice reading ;)

Thanks Peter. I'm afraid I've read just about everything there is to read about this system online. Was just wondering if anyone had connected OPT8 to DIO8, as I'm kinda patching together this system 8 channels at a time!
