Cpu for Munk

Postby Old School » Thu Mar 10, 2016 4:56 am

Hi all,
What say we all chip in and buy a cpu from someone on here who has an extra and send it to Munk? Just a thought.

Have a blessed day in Christ,
Mike W.

Hehehe. The Problem are the shipping costs from USA to EU ! they are quit high.
Guys you don't have to start a "Crowed funding" CPU stuff. I have a guy in my town where I live. He has
a fully loaded 5.1 d8b and he told me I can use it anytime I want.

But first I Need to Play with the rasberry pi to get used to it

best regards

I live in Denmark...
I dont have an extra console, but Mybrother might just have an extra cpu unit.
I do have a few console cards though (original clock card, analog tape in/out cards, original vga card)

Having it running on the pi would be awesome.
Though I wonder if it would be more more convenient to have it running on generic x86 architechture?
The os seems to be checking for machine specific things like the chipset and the video card. People have tried running the os on virtual machines. It's not a problem with the chipset - most VM's can emulate the needed chipset. But theres a check for something called "write combining" on the video card, which the VM's cant seem to emulate.
Would it be easier to hack the os to simply be able to run on generic x86, than to rewrite it for the PI processor (arm?) on linux?
Anyway, I'd like to help out any way I can!

yes, you are right, the most easiest way would be a VM solution.
the OS is developed to a 0x86 pentium processor. I already disassembled the exe file. I found also the authentification stuff.
Maybe ist possible to Bypass the Video stuff. I should have a look on that

I know that some People have tried to Setup a VM. Does anybody has something in a Status where we can continue?
So maybe something where it stops once the stuff goes into the graphic mode?
