HI Guys,

:D I Just bought a used D8B v5.1 for a great price due to an issue with the last 8 channels, their lights are stuck on (mute, select etc all constantly on)
the desk was only recently upgraded to 5.1 and I was told prior to the upgrade it was functioning normally.
other than that all the channels function as should.
has anyone else experienced this problem? I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue.

thanks very much.

Welcome to the forum.

Well, to begin with, I think it's mandatory to reinstall the OS. It wont hurt.

Then check all the cable connections between the d8b and the CPU (both ends).

You should also learn how to perform a Ribbon Cable Connection Correction Procedure

I will reinstall the OS and take from there, just waiting for a new floppy drive, I'll let you know how I get on.

I bet some of the ribbon cables have a bent pin or has been connected back in a wrong way.

There are ribbon connectors as far as I remember behind the board at the very back which can't be got at without removing the board itself, just a thought! One word of caution though, if you remove the board there are tiny capacitors on the very edge and they can snap off, I know from past experience. The board has to be teased out so be very carefull and make sure you have soldering skills.

Are you sure you reseated ALL the connectors that you could get at?
