CPU Batteries

Postby commav » Mon Nov 08, 2010 6:38 pm

I decided to hook up a CPU to one of the d8b's that we have sitting around the shop and when I turned it on an error message came up. Our tech guy informed me that the batteries in the CPU are bad and once he restored the settings it worked just fine. He told me this would have to be done every time I turn it on. Is there a way to replace to batteries so i don't have to do this?? Does this also mean that I wouldn't be able to save anything to the computer?? Any info on this would be great. Thanks!!

Not sure what you mean.

When you change the CPU battery (probably only about once every two+ years), you have to undertake a full re-set up of the Bios (see one of the data base sections on either this or the main forum) and from there every time you boot up everything should work correctly, including anything you have saved from a previous session.

Hope this answers your question
