300 CPU connector locations

Hello, does anyone know where I can get either a diagram or pics of where all the connectors on a 300 CPU go? I removed the motherboard to replace swollen caps and I didn't mark one connector. It's the a small 5 pin connector near the rear of the CPU right next to the keyboard socket (the one that looks like a MIDI port). The connector is black, 5/8" x 1/8". Does it go on the left or right of the keyboard socket (the one that looks like a MIDI port)? Looking with the HD close to me and the back of the unit away from me. Thanks, Fred

Thanks much for responding, but the connector I need is under the bundle of ribbon cables in the upper left. Thanks, Fred

Chapter 1 page 5... Are you talking about the mouse port?

Yes, the mouse port. Where does it connect inside on the motherboard. Thanks for your response, Fred

The picture in the Database is mine, there are three small black connectors in that small space, unfortunately they are obscured by the cables, do you have the other two connected?

From memory, there might also be a spare connector socket that's not in use there but I could be wrong.

If you are totally stuck, I'll get one of my CPU's out of the rack and get the lid off for a look-see.

Phil

Thanks Phil, I am totally stuck. My d8b was fine, I replaced the battery and got error 43. I noticed 6 swollen caps so I had to remove the board to replace. When I took it apart, I marked everything and thought there was only one 5 pin location that the mouse cable could go. Upon re-installing the motherboard, I noticed that there are 2, 5 pin locations for the connector to the left and right of the keyboard socket. I was just going to hook it up and see if it booted and the mouse worked and if it didn't, switch to the other location. but it sure would be great to know exactly where it goes before power up. Thanks much, I'm hoping I can get the d8b running. It's been trouble free for years. Thanks, Fred

Judging by your description of the board, it sounds as though you have the ITOX CB50 motherboard http://www.sonido-7.com/d8b/files/CB50-BX-ZX_User_Manual.pdf. Page 12 shows the layout of the board. The header to the right of the keyboard socket is the mouse port, the one on the left is an IRDA port (not used).

Hope you get it sorted.

Hello Peter,

Old hand.....maybe ;) .......I used to lurk on the old Mackie forums and more recently on this one. Can't tell you how much help both forums have been over the years in keeping two HDRs, one SDR, and the D8B running smoothly. Time to give something back........

All the best

John
