Dear Forum members,
I am new on this forum and I need your help. I bought D8B without PC stuff inside of Power supply. I read carefully forum topics regarding PC stuff. I bought MB Gygabite GA 586-TX3 with chipset i430TX as was suggested in D8B database. graphic card is ATI radeon 7000 or Cirrus Logic 5440. Procesor Intel Pentium 233MMX, 128 Mb RAM. I configure Bios folowing by instruction, attached HD formated. Start to install soft v.3.0. On screen I have Mackie loading system v.30 and blinking asterics in upper right corner. After while floppy stop reading diskiette, on screen remains only blinking asterics in right corner.
On d8b VDU console loading system appears, and after while error 43 host not boot.
My question is that to install software on hard drive d8b console need to be conected and working or software can be installed without d8b console. What can be cause of software freezing?

I do believe you need to have the console connected to install.

I and others have had problems with floppies - they tend to go bad quite fast it seems.
Personally I ended up buying a usb-floppy emulator that just uses a regular usb stick, capable of holding many floppy disk images.
You could also try to use the image I made of my installation (version 5.1 - search through my posts).

Let us know how it goes.

Hello again,
It's allive. I bought some PC parts, download soft. version 5.1 from arjepsen repository. Must fix problems with DSP board, thanks to Ralph Weritz for help, and fix Mic/Line card (V-pots not working some IC's need to be replaced). Now after switch on everything works OK........ but when I change faders bank from 1-24 to e.g. MASTERS some of faders not move and after remaining to fader bank 1-24 is still on power and it's not possible to manually change it position. Motors are in on state and powered. Any advice where is the problem?

Fader's problem solved. AD8803 is broken on board, after replacing everythink works perfect. Now is hardest part, learn how to use it.
