Help me whith mackie c4

Postby Raul » Sat Nov 10, 2018 6:59 pm

Hi all. I'm new in this forum. I write to you because I have a problem and I want someone to help me. I have a surface mackie c4 (normal, not pro) and since a few days is in update mode and does nothing. I think you need a midi file to update but on the mackie website or google have nothing. I sent an email to mackie and they told me to ask in this forum  . Can someone help me? Thank you

It's very interesting...
When you go to Mackie's website, on the page of the MCU products - there's a picture of the controllers including the C4 pro.
Honestly, since it's discontinued, I feel they shouldn't advertise it like that.

Anyways, a little searching on Mackies website revealed:
a quickstart guide:
https://supportloudtech.netx.net/loud-p ... asset/9788

Some software:
https://supportloudtech.netx.net/loud-p ... gory/11295

And some further documents:
https://supportloudtech.netx.net/loud-p ... gory/15403

I'm not familiar with the C4, so unfortunately I can't help you out anymore than that.
Good luck.

I don't know if I can help, but I have a functioning 'old' C4 sitting next to my d8b, to extend the d8b's functionality while in controller mode with the ProBox.

If there's anything you'd like me to try, Raúl, let me know.

Did you maybe try to update the firmware by sending MIDI/SysEx to it, but it got interrupted before it finished? Or did it start showing that "update mode" all of a sudden, and for no reason? If so, I'd just try to run the update again.

...and even if you didn't try to update, maybe the firmware got corrupted somehow, and could potentially be fixed by playing a firmware update into it via MIDI, that should be available when you follow one of the links Anders shared...

Not sure what the latest firmware version is... I'm on V1.02. Let me know if there's anything you want me to try on my C4, to test/compare.
