Connect 2 HDRs to one D8B

I have a remote 48 and want to connect 2 HDRs to a D8B.
My guess is that I can only get 8 channels out of the second HDR into the D8B using optical, but am unsure about the other connections.
Can anyone help suggest the right way to do this?

You can get 48 with 24 digital in and 24 analog in with the analog coming up on 1-24, digital 25-48.

To get the 2 HDR's to lock together, you need to to run an ethernet crossover cable and a 1/4 inch cable between the SPMTE jacks so one can chase the other. There is info. in the manual to do it. This is how I did it when I had a 48 track situation pop up for a mix and somewhere on here I documented it as well.
