Starting TCP/IP Socket Layer GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT

Hi,

After System Error 43 appears, I am trying to reinstall the OS V5.1 operating system. While reading disk 1, the following message appears on the screen:
Starting TCP/IP Socket Layer
GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT
GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT
GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT
GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT
...

Hello,

It sounds as though your floppy disk has got corrupted (age, physical damage or magnetic field). I'd suggest making a new set using the downloads available here for Windows, or here for Mac.
Instructions for making the disks are in the user manual (page 19) available here.
