Hello All,
The mouse & K/b are not working when booting up d8b. It has happen once before but it came back when I reboot the system again. It seems to happen quite frequently now. The mouse & K/Board just don't want to play any more. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Every thing else works ok.

Are your bios settings correct?

Hello Crash and thanks for fast reply.
It was only about two months ago that I've put in a new battery and had to go through bios to make the changes.
I thought of that when the mouse and k/b didn't work, but did not think anything would change in the bios. I will check and see if anything has change in the bios.

Did the odd behavior start when you introduced the new mouse and keyboard into mix?

No, I have always use the mouse for mix. As it may seems the K/b works fine using the F keys lets me change the banks 1 to 4 & M key for mute etc, so k/b is ok just the mouse is not working. Can't work it out. I have change the mouse with another mouse to no avail.

I have checked the Bios settings and they are all alright.
Today the mouse came back to play for awhile, after about the 16th song track it decided to go home again. I am so use to the mouse. I am finding it very frustrating without a mousie to play with. I am currently doing a 19 track album and without the mouse it's slowing me down endlessly. I am just wondering if this has anything to do with RAM maybe? Dunno. This d8b has serve me without problems for four years. Maybe its time for a change?

Some how I read into your original post that you had a new mouse and keyboard but I see that was not the case. Hmm, I am not sure why it would be intermittent, that is odd. I am grasping at straws but I might consider doing a re-install of the OS just for a lack of any other ideas at the moment. It could possibly be a motherboard getting ready to crash and burn in the CPU....maybe, possibly.

If you're using a ball type mouse, why not switch to an optical one and see if that makes a difference. A shot in the dark at best, but who knows.

Hello Crash,
Thanks Crash, If I were to do a re-install of the OS. I would need to find a computer that has a Floppy drive (or buy one) so I could D/L all the OS on to a floppy Disk. I currently have a floppy drive on my pc but it is gone to another pc world. Me thinks of taking four days off work to re-install and play catch up. I have never had to re-install this system, I am guessing maybe it's time to learn & do one. I am all for it. Auto mix is hard to do when I'm so use to mousing around. I am glad that most my work have been saved to floppy disk from the d8b before hand but need the rest to be saved then re-installed.
Hello JamesH,
Thanks James, I already am using an optical mouse. I never have used a ball type mouse.
Might be time to use one now.
Worst thing is the bios on my system does not say anything about mouse or K/B. eg on or off.

Do you have the 166mhz or 300mhz machine?
