Smpte Please help me lol

I'm going mad trying to get this to work!

I have a D8B (obviously lol) and an SDR. I have it connected via ADAT for 24 tracks in and out. Also have midi in and out from the main d8b box to the SDR.

The d8b will control the sdr and it records beautifully but there's just no Time code coming through to the D8b's display. So I can't automate anything.

Can someone please talk me through a step by step because the manual isn't clear on this matter. Many thanks

First thing is, get Vsn. 3 OS. It's free. Also get the 16/24 bit patch. Check the integrity of your midi cables and make sure "Transmit MTC" is activated on the SDR.

Ok so I now have it all working (thankyou) but during playback the times on the sdr and the d8b drift apart. But if I go set location on d8b both snap to same until playback when they drift again. Also record arm only works for first 8 tracks ?! I'm at a loss here. My Allen Heath R16 works fine with the sdr as is.

That's weird. Are your sample rates the same for both units? Keep in mind the d8b can only do 44.1/48K where as the SDR I think goes up to 88.2/96K. If this is not the case make sure your midi cables are good and that your time code settings for MTC a MMC are correct.

I don't have an SDR but, could it be that the frames per second parameter has been set different?

As far as the track arm scenario is concerned, if the SDR is anything like the HDR, all 3 device IDs should be set to "0". The same is true of the d8b, all 3 device IDs should be set to "0".

Spot on! The d8b keeps defaulting back to separate devices 0,1,2

The other issues were however caused it turns out by a faulty UFX card in slot 4. No idea how but ALL issues went away upon it's removal and come back if it's inserted into any slot.
Took some finding mind! Thanks everyone your stars

Good to know. Once you have reset the device IDs, you need to save a new startup session so that when you reboot, it will be as you want it.
