Hey guys on my d8b i have a DIO-8 card as well as on my hdr and for some reason i cant get a signal from the hdr on the console for the channels the card is responsible for. Its hooked up currently with ADAT cables only do I need to hook up a clock to these because it seems that the OPT-8 cards I have just plug right in and go. Any help would be great.

In the setup window there is an option for adat or tdif. You need to make sure adat is selected if it isn't already.

Highend17,
Welcome to the d8b forum.
Typically there is a version dilemma with these cards. Have these cards ever worked in this set up?
No, you do not need a clock cable connected to operate the ADAT I/O. That BNC is a clock output that would go to the TDIF unit if you were using a TDIF cable.
You should pull the card(s) and check the sticker on the EPROM to see if they match. While you are at it write the numbers down and check the database to see what the numbers mean. Different versions do the same thing differently, for them to work they need to be the same - also there is a latency difference between the OPT-8 and the DIO-8, so unless it is in the ALT it is preferable to have 1-24 be all the same type of I/O cards.
Hope this helps,
Michael
PS: please report back to us okay?

Did you check the eprom version on the cards as michael suggested?
Has this setup ever worked properly?

Michael's right and the reference to that is
here.
In all honesty, if you can manage it, it would be better to use all OPT-8 cards.
