Output Master L/R

Is there a way to output Master L/R to the ADAT (Tape Outputs). I want to keep it digital as I am using an audio interface for monitoring, but I am using its SPDIF I/O for something else.

If you have an adat card in the alt slot you could assign everything to buses and send out that way.

You can actually assign the L-R to ALT card outputs. That's one of the choices. IF you don't have a card in the ALT slot (or the wrong kind), then do as Casey suggested: assign all the tracks in the mix to a buss pair (there's a handy feature for that in v5.1) and assign those busses directly to tape outs.
Another option: Don't know what your interfacing to, but both AES and S/PDIF output at the same time. It's the input that only gives the choice of one or the other.

Okay what I ended up doing:
1. Connected DAW to Audio Interface 1 (MOTU 828 MKII) and routed it to a channel pair on the D8B via SPDIF using channel patch.
2. Sent combined audio from DAW and D8B via SPDIF out of D8B to Audio Interface 1 (MOTU 828 MKII) sent via ADAT to Audio Interface 2 (TC Impact Twin) for monitoring.
Reason for this is that SPDIF inputs in Audio Interface 2 are already used up so am using both to get the job done. I have A/B ed it against using other methods and cannot see any signal degradation. reason for this route is so I can get a good balance of both setups and have easy monitor control. Also tried just routing D8B to main audio interface and it was much less hot than DAW sent to main outputs of audio interface.

Well, there you go. You didn't need us at all. You know what you have to work with and what you want to accomplish.

Hey not trying to be smart, just tried different things. Your suggestions were useful though and they taught me how to use the Bus Outs properly so that will be useful for later. Thanks anyway. I even found another way to accomplish it with much less routing and balanced things up by using the DAW level knob in the TC device that I had not noticed, doh!
