Phantom Power Not Working

Hi Everyone,
I'm not getting any phantom power on any of the 12 mic pre amp channels!
Any ideas guys?

Did you turn phantom power on at the back of the board, next to the XLR's?

Had to ask. Do you have a multi meter? If so and you can read schematics it would be a good idea to check to make sure 48V is getting to the console from the CPU. If it is, then checking all ribbon connectors in the console is the next step I would take.

not sure how to read them. I wonder if anyone knows exactly how the power is patched to the phantom

It hits the main power distribution board on the back of the d8b and is then sent via a ribbon cable to the analog I/O board. You can check to see if phantom is getting to the XLR jacks by setting a multi meter to DC voltage and sticking the + (red) lead into either pin 2 or 3 of the jack and sticking the - (black) into pin one for a ground reference and see if you get between 44-48V.

ok, tried that. Pretty inconclusive I have to say. Didn't seem to be getting a reading. Any ideas?

Without disassembling, you should be able to measure the phantom voltage on the BFC directly. However, it is a bit hard to explain and I don't have my D8B handy, so if you post a picture of the connector (with all pins/holes) on the thick cable going to the CPU, I can circle the pins that you should measure.
