Got everything working audio wise and I've got the transport controlling protools but the timecode display isn't doing anything. is there a setting I'm not seeing? It's working fine in Cubase, but I just cant seem to figure out the settings for protools.
Ay help would be greatly appreciated.

Not that I have the answer but what version of PT are you running? If it is working fine in Cubase then it is a midi setting in the PT system, but you already know this.

PT9. Well the PT MMC settings are very lack luster compared to Cubase's controls.

MMC (Midi Machine control) I guess is why your transport work.
In order to get some readings in the timecode display you have to feed the d8b with MIDI Time Code (MTC).
Just my 0.025 Euro cents.

I've adjusted the MTC settings as well. Both as send and receive in PT, but no luck. Actually one setting makes the display on the d8b transport feakout. The protools guy at the studio can get by without cause he's never had it before & it's not a big deal to him, but I want the dang thing to work cause I know it should.
So, I know I've seen threads about PT9 & the d8b before, I just need those folks to tell me if it's working for them and how they got it to.

Have you been messing with the MIDI cables? I know it is a stupid questions but maybe your MIDI in cable has got loose.
Sorry is this is too obvious.
You say you have the transport working, so the MIDI card is receiving MIDI properly. I was thinking about a bad battery and that the BIOS settings would have been reset to defaults. If this would be the case, you can check the BIOS settings and verify that the IRQ10 is set to Legacy ISA. This is only valid for newer motherboards. If the IRQ10 is not set to Legacy ISA the MIDI cards don't work as expected.

I'll check the Bios Settings but i'm sure i went through them the last time the board took a dump with the whole bios chip failure. At that same time i installed a brand new battery so that shouldn't be the problem. I'll check IRQ10 when I get back home on monday.
Thanks Peter

Well, it's working now. Went through and just toggled the selections I had already made on and off then viola. d8b timecode follows PT9 now.
Thanks guys for the troubleshooting.
