Hails, my name is Emeric, I'm French and my English Language is Very BAd and I have a problem with my D8B ^^:
I've just change the DCA CARD from my D8b (Because the original one was out of order) by a second hand one. All works well, faders, signal IN , meters IN , but I have no sound in OUT (no signal in L/R metter too) ...an idea (all my connections are tested and work, I try all Routing possibility but no sound from 'nearfield, main ...". Help me pleassssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...............

If I understand you correctly, you do have signal on the channel meter, don't you? In such case things happen in the digital domain and it is very likely a routing problem (less likely a failure of the digital mixing engine). Do you get signal on the tape outs (make sure the input channel is assigned to the corresponding tape out)?

Hails synthjoe and thanks a lot. As you say I don't have any signal on the channel meter. Ok, I test the tape outs and i come to you ... Thanks again ...

Re-
So I just tested it and I have no signal with the Tape Outs ... Do you think the DCA card that I changed can be broken ? or then I badly put back the ribbons or other cables ?

Since you have no signal on the direct to tape outputs, I'd guess that the problem might be elsewhere. Otherwise I'd have said the DCA board might be faulty. But check all AUX, studio speakers, control monitor, bus outputs, etc. (also by using 2tk inputs and talkback, if you can) to see what happens. If at least one output is producing some signal, then the DCA card is working, at least partly. However, the fact that tape outs are mute as well indicates to me that you might have to look at other things.

Does this console have a clock card in it of any kind? Sounds like maybe not. OOps, never mind, I see that there is signal in, so that rules that out....

Can you see bargraph display activity on the monitor? (I think this feature is only available in OS V5.)
I'd also suggest trying this:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=447#p3283See if gate and other processing functions have any effect on your channel signal level display - if so, then the DSP board (and the power to it - as per the link above) is probably fine - you'll have to look elsewhere. But then again, activating an AUX send on your channel should produce some output on the corresponding jack terminal on the back of the console.
How involved you want to get with the inner working of the circuitry?

Hold on.... Is there metering on the input? I thought I saw that originally there was input meter activity...now it appears that is not the case. If there is no metering at all, then a clock problem could be an issue. The dca card is part of a stack of pcb's, do you know if the stack was wired back correctly with the ribbon cables?
