hello all. my friend gave me the D8B. the problem is that the CPU unit is very noisy. I want to do a silent upgrade :)

I put two of these RAM?
http://www.ebay.it/itm/RAM-SDRAM-256-Mb-PC100-Mhz-168-pin-TESTATE-/160775105529?pt=Memorie_per_PC_e_Server&hash=item256ef16bf9#ht_928wt_1139

for the power supply can replace it with this?
http://www.ebay.it/itm/TECNOWARE-ALIMENTATORE-ALIMENTATORE-500W-TECNOWARE-ATX-20-24PIN-VENTOLA-SILENT-1-/300683750302?pt=Altro_Informatica&hash=item460225eb9e#ht_2379wt_1185

on the motherboard I have seen that there is a 20 pin molex connector. I can use the molex connector instead of the old?

for the hard drive, I can put a 32GB SSD IDE like this?
http://www.ebay.it/itm/KINGSPEC-SSD-32Gb-2-5-IDE-SM2235-Controller-/170813836439?pt=Hard_Disk_per_PC_e_Server&hash=item27c54c4c97#ht_1636wt_1185

Thanks to all

With regard to point 1: The max you need is 256 so you don't need two of those. It's widely accepted that 2 x 128 is safer but at that price who cares? In other words you only need one stick of 256 if it works.

Point 2: The power supply is 3 sections. I doubt the one you've linked to will work but it may. Wiring may be more of a hassle than it's worth. Hopefully someone else can comment here.

Point 4: The stock is a 3.5" HD. You have the right giggage (did I just make that up?) but that is a 2.5" drive so if it does work you're gonna be adjusting the mounting conditions.

I've left the molex question since I have no idea.

Further, the silly little fan over the processor on the motherboard is the main offender in the noise department. There is a post in the database that addresses this.

You should make your next port of call, the database. There's a link at the top of this page. Many questions answered there.

Welcome :)

Peter
