Hi all! I am a new member of this forum and a long time user of the Mackie Forum. I want to thank everyone for their fine contributions to the cause throughout the years. I have gained more knowledge and skills with your help not to mention the head scratchers that I got through finding solutions in the forums. I am sorry that I couldn't contribute more.
On Friday in the middle of a session a bypass cap (or rail cap as you call them) in my d8b decided to commit suicide. I did isolate the problem to the CODEC board. One of the 25 bypass caps was bringing the -16 buss down to about -2 volts. With an Ohmmeter I found the culprit and cut it out. I do plan to replace all the bypass caps on that board.
With what I have learned from you guys and the d8b Database I was able to fix the problem in house. Again...a heartfelt big thank to you all!
Sincerely, Rus
