Apogee Word Clock issue

Hey Guys,

I just installed an Apogee Word Clock Card that I purchased a few days ago. I removed the original clock card that came with the d8b and inserted the Apogee clock card securely. No issues on boot were apparent, but the Apogee clock card is not showing up in the Digital I/O MENU in the setup page, and there is no sound. I tried reseating the Apogee clock card a few times but still it is not showing up.
I re-installed the original clock card and sound and sync was back again.
I tried installing the Apogee Clock card in the second d8b that I have but got the same results as before. The card is just not showing up in the digi I/O menu in setup. Am I missing something here or was I sold a faulty card?
Thanks in advance for any answers.

Since you've posted this 3 times, I'll just answer here in the dedicated thread. I'd say your faulty card scenario is correct. The edge connectors may need cleaning but with the number of times you've inserted and removed the card, that seems unlikely.

Sorry about the multiple post Peter...
Yes.. I even removed the hold plate in the event the apogee card could be pushed a Litle further in, but still didn't make a difference.

Thanks for the response.

In the other thread you posted in by krstudio, didn't the issue end up being a faulty HD?

Yes..I considered that, but I installed the Apogee clock card in my second d8b to see if i could configure it there Crash...it didn't show up on that one either. What are the chances that two HDs are the culprits, especially when both consoles are working fine?
I considered software, but again I think it very unlikely that both D8Bs have the same issue.. Puzzling.. :(

I didn't realize there was a second d8b in the equation. I would now have to agree that the card is probably the culprit.

But not impossible and could (and I'm thinking quite remotely) explain failure in both D8Bs. Try cleaning the connector and while you're at it, inspect the board for any broken traces, discolored solder joints or burnt looking active elements. This is real Hail Mary stuff but worth a few minutes of time.

However, as it sounds like the board is the culprit, I'd try and get your money back from whomever you bought it from and start looking for another one. Actually, I am curious. Where did the board come from?

Purchased the board from the states...I sent it back this morning. Hope to have a replacement ASAP.
BTW Thanks for all your comments...:)
