console data cable

Postby odie214 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 10:50 pm

I bought my d8b used and unfortunately, it didn't come with a console data cable. I know that the dsp card is mounted in the console so could that be the possible reason that I keep getting an error message telling me that the dsp card isn't ready yet? Everything loads. Then it gets to the mixer screen and the message pops up. I ordered a 25 pin din IEEE male/female data cable off of ebay that should come today.

Someone sold you a console and CPU without the data cable??? I think I have an actual factory data cable somewhere if the one you ordered doesn't work out for some reason. Report back once you have the missing piece in place and we will go from there if your error message continues.

Okay. So my data cable didn't show up yesterday. Luckily for me, it came today. So I go down stairs to the basement to hook it up and see what gives. I got my 6 month old with me whose never been in the basement, but I have a finished basement with 2 bedrooms and cable, so I think I am going to be cool.....WRONG!!!!!.....First I set the kid in front of the tv and put on Thomas the train, then I proceed to the d8b. I hook up the data cable and I am still getting the message. I unhook the cable and rehook it and still get the message. I look in the cpu and the ribbons are disconnected. Now I am plugging and switching ribbons and turning them around, and I am still getting this message. Around this time, the kid becomes disenchanted with old Thomas and she's screaming at the top of her lungs. So I go to mess with the ribbons again and low and behold, I had accidentally plugged the data cable into my AES card on the back of the console. So I unplug it and plug it in the console data area and turn it on, and it loads and searches for my plug ins and such. But I could'nt play with it because the kid was having no part of it. Can't wait for the wife to come home so I can go in the basement and play.
