Digi 002 console w/ HDR

Would this combo - Digi002 connected to HDR optical work out, using the ADAT protocol? I realize it'd only be 8 I/Os, but if I could get the transport working over midi that'd be great. Any opinions?

In don't have a Digi002 but, is there any way the Digo002 may be able to put out MMC (Midi Machine Control)
