Making the External Bay, really External

Hello all;

Wondering if anyone has tried to connect the External Caddy Bay connector to an external Caddy Bay?

I wonder as it is difficult to find caddies (RH40 & RH40F) to use yet RH10's seem to be around. This could also open up other possible caddy types that may be more available.

Just wonder if it has be tried or what your thoughts are on this.
