Flying Faders?

Is it possible to get a program to show off your work with flying faders?

Lighting up the whole board or something like that?

It would be cool!

maybe implementing the Steinberg C121 Controller Format to get the possibility to control Wavelab 8 emelments.

I plan to add a Display to each channel to get the channelnames and values to each channel (like the real MCU)
everything is available, I have just to solder and program it

yes I'm working on that (Small Screen under each fader)
At the Moment this solution is not sellable as it would be difficult to install and to ship.

I have many thoughts about that to get this maybe useable for all.
I Can Image to make a U- Profile where the Displays are build in, then you have to remove the plastic part of your d8b (the one to lay on the Hands) and Mount the U-Profile with the Displays on it to the d8b.

But at least you will have to open the probox and move the electronics from the yellow case into your d8b as the Displays Need Connection to the probox. I've designed a solder place in the past to solder a connector to the board to get the Displays connected.

Some years ago either Steve T or Dan Worley (I think it was Dan) put out a very interesting bit of data that demonstrated what you want in a most amazing manner.

I know that it was on the old Mackie Forum (long since gone) but I might still have it on disk somewhere, if I can find it I will see if I can upload it somehow. I will have a look in about five Hrs time.

I had a quick look on the database but couldn't find it, but it is something that every d8B owner should have installed as it shows off the desk marvelously and really has the ultimate BS factor.

Didn't look hard enough in the database !!!!

Go to the d8B database on the forum and select "Automation Motivation" then on the RHS look at "Frolicking Faders".

Do as the instructions say to download it to a floppy then run it on the d8B.

I haven't previously seen the "Galloping Faders" demo, so I have no idea what it is, but you could give it a try as well.

Frolicking Faders shows off the automation of the board and it will communicate with you on the monitor.

Galloping Faders was horse racing game, each fader was a horse. The winner received a customized version of Frolicking Faders for their studio.

Glad to see that some of us REALLY old sods are still floating around!!!!

It is interesting that when I come here these days there is hardly a name that I recognize from the old days and it is equally as interesting when those old names do appear that so many of them are no longer using the old beast.

Mine has been wrapped in plastic for almost two years and the studio I have been using has an old Behringer 24 x 8 desk feeding into an Alesis HD24.

That's sounds like a great idea, but I'm wondering if it's possible to make a display bar that you just put on top of the d8b above the meters?
And make the wires go to the Probox from there, just hide them behind the desk?

Displays underneath the faders would be the best but if it's not that easy to install for the customer maybe a bar would be better?
Just an idea.
