I got these from my uncle a few weeks ago.
I have 3 D8B mixing boards, 3 CPUs, and 2 HDR units.
Additionally, I have 5 or so hard drives, 4 VGA monitors, 3 ps/2 keyboards and mice, and a bunch of the cabling.
I can confirm that at least one of the setups works completely. Two weeks ago one of his friends came by and connected the board/cpu/hdr up and it was running v5. I don't know the status of the other boards/CPUs/HDRs... He told me "everything was interconnected and working when I disassembled it a couple years back" for whatever that's worth.
Truth be told, I know very little about this stuff and while it seems like a great idea in theory, after he got it up as running ... I decided I just don't have the time to learn it and/or invest into using it. Sucks, I love the idea of it but it is what it is.
Anyway, at this point I'd prefer to sell everything together if possible... But depending on the feedback I might have to piece things out.
Hit me up with any offers. If you have any questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer them... No guarantees tho since, like I said, I don't know too much about the equipment.
Thanks,
John

Hey John;
Sounds like a gold mine for those of us who use these old beasts. It would help to know where you are located. Bseides the cost to buy the gear, there is shipping, which can be significant. I doubt that any one person will by it as a lot, but one never knows. Thanks for this. Cheers Bruce |
Bruce - Thanks for the note. If everything still functions as it should (as a whole) it certainly is quite a bit of gear that hopefully can help out the people on this board that will use this stuff to it's full capacity. I'm located just outside Baltimore, MD (USA). I absolutely see what you're saying regarding the shipping due to the size/weight of everything. Makes perfect sense... Parting pieces out does worry me a little as I'd have to start ripping these big things apart, but if that's the way it'll get into everyone's hands, then so be it! haha. John |

Brent, yes I do. I haven't made any equipment moves to this point, so what you see in the original post is still accurate. - John

Re-visiting this post ------I'm willing to part out items if anyone is interested.
I have (3) D8B consoles, (3) CPUs, and (2) HDR units. Each of the consoles has digital I/O cards installed. (4 total APOGEE Digital I/O cards and 5 OPT-8 I/O Cards) The two HDRs have a total of 2 APOGEE cards and 4 OPT-8 Cards. One HDR has a hard drive installed but I don't have the key to get it out and additionally, I have (6) extra hard drives Hit me up with any offers. Pics available too. All sales are "as-is" and if you have any questions let me know. Thanks, John |

If you considered ripping one appart...
Do you have a 055-123-00 linear PS for a D8B Mackie. That is a board in the CPU unit. Or could you recommend someone that might. I could use an entire cpu unit if that is still available? Got that one working. Now I'm looking for a BRAIN board. |
