Im not sure of the "internal ribbon cable reseat procedure". Is that simply opening the cover, unplugging whats plugged in, and re-seating it?

Yep, pop the bottom off and reseat all the ribbon cables you can get at.

Just be somewhat careful and go slow so you don't tear a cable header apart. I am sort of grasping at straws here since it is just the first eight channels, which is the only reason I would tell you try this move.

Thank you for the tips.... I removed and reseated each piece I could get to. Unfortunately, the same issue is happening. Im thinking the only reason its going to the first 8 tracks, is that the input is coming from the first OPT8 card.... I did a test, sending the signal from the first OPT8 card, to the second input on the HDR, and then channels 9-16 had the issue. If I changed the first output to the 3rd input at the HDR, then channels 17-24 were affected. Any thoughts?!

Hi

Check your sample rate
It has to be the same on the d8b and hdr

Try to flip between the sample rates sometimes it helps

Try to put back the stock sync card and restart the d8b then
turn it off and put back your apogee sync card and restart

I wish changing to the Stock card was an option. When I bought this, used, it already had the Apogee sync card installed.
I will check the sample rates. Thank you for another great idea to check!

Morning;

Have you tried moving your digital cards on the D8B? See if the fault follows.

If it doesn't, move the cards back, check to see if fault is still there, then move cards on the HDR. See if the fault follows.

You should be able to loop the lightpipe on your card. Just go out and right back in so that any mic/line signals come back into the console on the tape return side.... I think this will work. We use to do it during testing with the analog card. This removes the HDR from the equation.

I thought you had already tried all the things Bruce suggested but if not, it is a good thing to look over.

Good Evening!
Yes, I had tried the tips that Bruce was recommending. Thank you for offering thou.. Im at a standstill here, haha.
I will try the lightpipe loop back tonite thou, as another test. I know when unplugging the output of the board (that goes to the inpput of the HDR) for that set of channels, the HDR works without issue... but I will try the loopback, to see if that also produces noise. A great Idea, didnt think of that one, and Im sure thats why you folks are Premium Members!!! haha
Thank you again for all your help!!!
