Holy cow!!! You have to type a six digit verification code every time you post.

Aaaaargh!

It's a shocker and so old fashioned looking. Further, they seem to have just left it as it is for days. So much lost. Children at the wheel!!!??? No explanations, just suck it and see. Now I see, me no likey.

I can't even post over there. When I try it says my host is not recognized as a valid host. How dare they! :x

Funny thing is, my PMs are finally fixed. It's been two years since I've been able to read PMs, and it does seem I can still send PMs even though I can't post to the forum.

That place is a disaster. I have no idea what they're doing or why they're doing it. Maybe it will come out better in the end, but I highly doubt it.

Anyway, if you don't see me over there you'll know why. I can't get through and I'm not going to deal with that crap anyway. I can't even read the new topic titles without highlighting the text. They're all behind a bar of black.

Well, I finally joined up on this forum. This is so much better than the "new and improved" version on the other site. I doubt that I'll spend much time over there anymore. Why can't Mackie see how awful the new forum layout is? It's total crap!

Well....this is what you get when everyone with a brain was either fired or left (with the exception of Jamie Engen who was already brain-dead when he got there) and nothing but hacks are left in charge, repainting old technology; trying to pass it off as new. Anything to appear as though they are actually doing something to justify their paychecks. Their forum redo is a prime example of the new forward thinking going on over there. If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance....baffle 'em with bullshit.

That company is a mere shell of what it once was.....and even that is an insult to shells everywhere. The morons haven't filed an SEC holdings report in almost 2 years. They are still over 100mil in the hole. The stock is now floating between $0.04-07. This is so low that my last two quarterly reports showed my holdings at $0.00. That's right: zero.

It's not even worth the cost of printing the report. If anyone is wondering why I held my shares for this long...it was so I could maintain the right to go to the stockholders meeting with a bag of rotten tomatoes. Unfortunately, there hasn't been a stockholders meeting notification in over a year....but I still hold out hope to sail fruit at the podium someday. Too bad Engen aint there anymore....he would've been easy to hit from 100 feet*.

My spies tell me the Mackie booth NAMM was host to crickets.

Rant mode: Off

Thanks for setting this place up and doing it right, Peter. I appreciate the work.

*That's a polite way of saying he was a fat bastard.

Wow! I wish you'd have said something over there. You obviously have some inside dirt errr, knowledge.

What a shame that they've dropped the ball.

Love your avatar btw. ;)

I'll tell you one little story about the level of crap that began to suck the joy out of that place.

One day, I get an email from the guy who replaced Ron Koliha as Media Director. Ron is now Presonus's Media Director.

The new guy was a real humorless and untalented hack who found himself in charge after they fired Ron. And as all petty bureaucrats who rise to their level of incompetence tend to do, he went about putting his stamp on his shiny new fiefdom. Marking his territory, so to speak.

…Anyway, the genius decides to piss in my direction, writing to tell me that I have to change the Mackie logo on the Fat Channel's Gate and Compressor meters. He wants the standard corporate logo instead of the vintage cursive.

The reason? It doesn't jibe with his new strict enforcement of Mackie branding rules.

I wrote back and explained that it was an on-purpose design choice that Greg Mackie worked out with me. The whole thing was supposed to look vintage…including the logo. The logo was supposed to look like a meter that was designed 60 years ago.

What's on the meter is what Greg chose from our font library. He thought it was funny as hell.

Branding Police-boy wrote back and said he didn't care….it had to go.

I wrote back and said no, that the official logo wouldn't match the intent of the look we were going for. Being totally devoid of humor, he just didn't get the gag. He simply couldn't grasp the concept that we were going for something that might've existed before he was born. Didn't matter.

Dwee….doo…..dweee…..doo………(cue the marching of jack-boots SFX)

Next day, he went over my head and wrote to the Director of Engineering complaining about it. The DoE wrote back and said that "vintage" was the intention of the design, logo and all; it was Greg's baby and it was staying.

Undaunted, he then wrote to the CEO, complete with all the back and forth email attached. CEO didn't even respond. It stayed.

"Victory is mine!" -Stewie Griffin

Anyway...here's a picture you might enjoy. On the left is Greg's original sketch drawn on a Post-It (you can also see his first idea bleeding through from the other side). On the right is the design he approved. Yeah...I save this stuff.
