my d8b want come on

this is something new to me
when I boot up the monitor shows error surface control card not ready last known state reset.
and the d8b will not come on well the only thing that lights up is the rude solo light no other lights show up
no green light. I have cleaned and reseated the big cable and I have reseated all the ribbon cables as of now I don't
know what else to do. any help would be appreciated most times I can reseat the ribbon cables and that fixes most
problems I have had with the d8b but not this time. thanks for any help already miss my d8b

Thank for the fast reply no I did not check the video card the reason why was the rude solo light came on so I did not think about the video card but I will try that tonight thanks for your help because I need it. Joe allen

Hi mike. I just cleaned and reseated my video card and I put a new battery in and checked the bios to make sure they was set right. My d8b still don't come on. On my monitor it shows v5.1 and it shows the chanals but the d8b will not come on only the rude red light no green or red lights come on. It's like there is no power on the d8b only in the cup. I am lost don't know what to do I need some help. Thanks joe allen

Hey Joe;
Perhaps the OS needs to be reinstalled, including Service Pack 3.

Maybe the boot process is corrupt (it happens). Just a thought.

Hope you have all the codes If you don't recover them before you reinstall.

Thanks Bruce. I can try the os reinstall. its booting up its the console that's not working no kind of light red or green light show up just the rude solo light. Nothing is working on the console but it's shows it booted up on the cup I am willing to try anything. Thanks Joe allen

Peter S always recommends reseating or replacing the RAM in cases such as these. Just a thought.

Thanks Peter. I will reseat the ram tonight if the hard drive is bad could it cause this kind of problem I have looked and I have not seen this problem in the d8b forum I could have over looked it. Joe allen

Well just cleaned and reseated the ram d8b still don't come on just the rude solo light is the only thing that lights up and it's on the dem side I hope I can get this fixed I can't afford a new console at this time thanks for any input on this. Joe allen

Hi Joe,
Make sure the big round cable to the back of the console does not have ANY strain on it. If it does, disconnect it and reconnect it making sure it's fully supported. If this doesn't work, then I am at a loss. But there are better minds than mine on here, I'm sure they can solve this.
