IVL Vocal Studio plug

Postby Crash » Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:46 pm

OK, this is a question I should know the answer to but I don't off the top of my head. Was there ever a way to run the IVL plug with only one MFX card installed that would let you have it outside of demo mode? I run my rig with an MFX in slot 1 and UFX in the rest of the slots, so whenever I try and run IVL VS, it times out after 10 minutes. I always thought this setup was idiotic. Seems to me, the best result would have been to have it unlock with either card in slot 2. Was there an unlock code that would allow it to just be had fair and square? Refresh my memory.

This is a curiosity more than anything, as I don't remember vocal studio being all that impressive.

You need two MFX... I like your idea of either a UFX or a MFX being an unlock for the MFX vocal studio, but it doesn’t work that way. Truthfully I didn't even know there was a demo mode on the MFX vocal studio, and two MFX cards is the unlock code.

Hope this helps,
Michael

Yeah. No workaround to the need for 2 MFX.

I wouldn't say it was useless. You can get some pretty wild FX out of it. Getting meaningful harmonies is hard work though since you really have to articulate the notes you want via midi and in all honesty, that requires sequencing. The stand alone interpreter is pretty ad hoc.

Great octave doubler, up or down.

Just another tool in the utility belt.

In the scheme of things, there isn't one... just chaos.

Yea... I thought that was how I remembered it being. The reason I started to question it was I recently updated a d8b with every plug in and an unlock code for Vocal studio was listed. I found that odd... and then opened another cold beer.
