i already have a D8B,
my question. is it possible to set the both mixers up? linked to eachother
when i can press play and toggle my jogshuttle, & see the time code at the same time? on both machines?

tried some MIDI cables to linkt them up, didn't quite work.

so pleaseee if any of you got an idea

Why did you buy a HUI when you have a HUI layer on the D8B?

While it is true there is a HUI on the d8b (w/v5.1) I am not sure how the two would compare. To the question... you should be able to use both but I have never tried that. I have however set up other midi loops with all kinds of gear. For me it was a trail and error until I got it to do what I wanted it to do. There were thru ports and in ports and that for some reason made a difference. Without a midi box it is one big loop in to out and sometimes thru to out and back to in or thru. Sorry I can't be more help with a specific "do this and it will work". Basically as simple as MIDI is, I am continually baffled. Once I get it right I write it down for each scenario as my set up has changed here and there.
Also a big help to me was simplifying the set up by taking some equipment out of the loop temporarily, being patient, and writing everything down. It gets way confusing (for me anyway) so I think I would remember what I just did but I couldn't. Wow, this is getting to be a long one sorry... Basically just start with the three units (I assume) HDR, d8b, and HUI… or probably four DAW. So start with the HUI and DAW get that working and then add another piece – I guess you can tell by now I don’t have a solid answer! I do suggest simplifying the set-up, write stuff down, and add it one at a time paying attention to in/thru and outs that everything is a loop.

Hope this helps (but I can’t see how it could  )

Hery guysss ,

Thxx for the advisee

I just worked it out and it's a HIT!

SOUND DEVICE MIDI OUT -----> D8B MIDI IN & HUI MIDI IN (using a 2 way midi splitter cable)
D8B MIDI OUT & HUI MIDI OUT -------> OPCODE MIDI INTERFACE ----> SOUND DEVICE MIDI IN

it works like a charm!

To : NigelC
Consider me a mackie Junkie , who couldn't resist to get that HUI for a very nice bargon . Looks like my d8b had a baby >X-D
