Is anybody still using these?

Postby Capt. Kirk » Wed Jan 11, 2017 8:28 pm

If you're still using a d8b for anything including a headphone mixer in it's original format I'd like to know. I have one that has software 5.1 with what was called the Bonanza package. It currently has system 42... 43. It's been a while and I don't remember now. I snatched it out and put in an old Soundcraft mixer to finish the work I had. Got some time and would like to resurrect the d8b again. I paid way too much to let it sit in storage and collect dust.

Thanks for your comments.

I still use my d8b every week. You must be referring to the error message 43, which is the equivalent of the check engine light in your car. Start here on your road to recovery:

It was a special offer quite a while ago. Long gone.

In the scheme of things, there isn't one... just chaos.

It is so long ago you can't find any trace of it on Google.

Why would anybody who owns a d8b not want to use it on a regular basis. I would take mine to bed with me every night if my wife let me,,,,,,, ha ha ha ha

Seriously though, the d8b as old as it is, is still king for small or home based studio work of all kinds. We produced our first Christian CD with it about a year ago and everyone who has heard the CD remarks about how perfect the production is. We are getting ready to produce our second CD and I just bought another one on e-bay. going to gang them together. That is 48 channels in a row without having to flip a switch or 96 channels with the flip of 2 switches, (1 on each one to change the fader bank).

Love this thing - best investment I ever made despite troubles of keeping it alive and well.
