I received that message once. Turns out I tried to connect the DB-25 Data Cable to the D8B Bus Out connector by mistake. The BIOS should be checked, too.

To the Boss:

When I was overhauling my first D8B, the switching P/S for the motherboard was bad. Trying an off-the-shelf PC P/S wouldn't work- my D8B did the same thing you described. If I recall, it would boot, but when I shut it down, the entire board surface and all the Vu meters lit up like the 4th of July. It turns out the standard power switch on the CPU and the connectors on the P/S boxes were not wired correctly. The previous owner tried to replace the P/S but connected the power switch wrong. The CPU would shut down but the analog supply kept powering the console surface. Might not be what you experienced, but I found it kinda freaky...
