Hey- did you verify the drive? I believe Mackie requires that. In fact, if you have a drive that wasn't verified and you try to move files recorded on an SDR to either an HDR or MDR, it won't read correctly.

I did think about doing that, then realised that the HD had already been formatted before the files were added to it

Try running "Verify" from the DISK UTIL menu. If that doesn't work, you can re-format the disk and make sure you format it for recording and not backup.

Don't leave any unreplaceable files on it when you format!!!!!!
