I don't want to change my desk as I sold all my other console's and even new digital console's do not have the same work flow or compatibility for my little studio.

Let me know if I can be of any help.

Hey Carla & Phantomrage;

Thanks for you future interest. I will see how things are with Terri in the near future I'm sure.

She wishes to sell everything as a lot but the best place to sell it, as Mike has pointed out, may be right here in on this forum's For Sale page.

But, let me not get ahead of things. We need to figure out what she has first.

More to come....

Cheers lads

Bruce, et al:

I, too, have been in e-mail contact with Terri. She said Eric gave her a ballpark figure for the lot of parts and units. He felt there was $4,000 to $5,000 worth of inventory. Terri said it is two rooms full of gear. I am in the same boat, living in Wisconsin. I'm not in a position to travel to NC to help her out.

I like your suggestion to find a way to get the items listed on the Forum For Sale page. If she can get photos of things, we could pitch in to help identify and put a value on things. I will be happy to help in any way.

Anyone interested in donations to Eric's family could route the gift through PayPal. I can check with Terri to see which account she is monitoring. I plan to donate 25% of anything sold on my For Sale post in memory of Eric and his contributions to the Mackie platform.

Ok it makes a lot of sense to purchase items from Terri but what will it happen when all the parts are finished/sold? We need someone who continually refurbishes and sells parts like Eric did. What do you think? A long term solution is needed.

Regards
Carlo

Hey Carlo;

I agree that a longer term solution is needed. I do not have the skills, nor money, to try to do what Eric did.

What may need to happen is once all parts are gone, that we need to seek service people who has knowledge of the d8b and the various parts and can fix them. We will need to all start exploring options.

Sadly Eric was a unique guy with a niche business.

I believe he was training someone to work on the HDR/MDR/SDR service end of things, but I don't know how it all turned out.

I also believe he had a "guy" who fixed d8b's for him, but I have no knowledge of who that was.

More conversations with Terri I guess.

These where North American people, how do you deal with repairs/parts from the EU?

Cheers
Bruce

Hi Bruce we have to get in touch with this service guy. Maybe Terri knows something. I used to get parts from Eric. No hope here in the EU.

Plenty of us can work on SMT and replace faders on the pcb if we can find the faders.

What we need is schematics and other information.

Along with parts.
