Hi Guys, the mighty fonix http://www.funkafonix.com just released 2nd single "We got soul" all done on the d8b and 2 x hdr.
Bit of a nightmare this one was ! sooooo many hours,
Its a hybrid of all sorts of styles you may be able to pin down.

wow... thanks alot bruce, there is alot in there no doubt, i would be here a while braking it down,
just working on the next one, not sure to go all out power funk or just a groove, on saying that
I have been playing around trying to get that late 80s early 90s funk sound,its a bit like jazz fm radio frendly, more of an incognito, m people, sounding track,
its not bad effort at all really, tho might be a bit sickly sweet for todays market. we will see.

Hi Vorce, i think they are all catchy as fcuk, i have 2 cds "Funk" and "bringing back the funk" and they both are very good with a host of very good players that mesh really well, its the band i would love to be in, ( as well as new cool collective).
love the opening track on funk with bootsy, and im sure bootsy must be thinking "dam... i wish i had wrote that" he sounds so good on it. Brian has great ideas very melodic, and a very good all round player, im not ashamed to say iv lent a few ideas, all for the natural progression of the cause dont you know ( one idea is on the "we got soul track....... lets go ! !)( thanks brian )

Hi crash, thanks, just put an ad out to work and write some songs with a sax player, he can layer your brass parts, done.
trumpet you can add via keys as its easeyer to get a realstic trumpet sound than it is to get a good sax sound,
Chris Hein horns is good if you can get your head around it.

Hi crash, thats all we need, whats your funky Chic rhythm playing like ?
I think we we should do a D8B forum song where everyone can contribute.
your good at mixing and editing then great, you can be the hub to send the ideas and parts too.
If i get the ball rolling with a basic drum beat and bass line as a guide, then add that to sound cloud im sure there are guys on here that can play keys or 2nd guitar, percussion, lyrics, vocals. and other parts and ideas.
if its a good idea then lets open a dedicated post to get guys on board.
im sure there are also guys on here that can help in getting that finished product set up as a download. all dosh ( if any ) can go to the upkeep of the site.
nice little project for forum members who want to have a dabble.
simple.
