More than one "external drive"

Postby Old School » Sat Jun 30, 2018 12:59 am

Hi All,
Has anyone ever tried using ribbon cable to daisy chain the external drive connection to more than one external drive to see if the HDR would be able to recognize more than one external drive at a time?

Have a blessed day,
Mike W.

Hey Mike;

I hadn't thought about this! It would be interesting to see if it does work!

I am working towards an external bay using the Removeable tray slot as the plug point for the external drive. Once done and working, daisy chaining would be easy.

When I get there, I'll try to let you know how it worked out.

Cheers
Bruce

I haven't actually tried it, but I've read that it won't see more than one drive per IDE slot. As for using the secondaries for a "system restore" boot drive or something, that would work. But, the HDR OS will only see two drives. The primary and secondary master drives.
