thanks, Anders

I would like to try to do this myself. so I will know how to do it with my HDR and my MDR if I get the d8b going
you said you could post some photos that could help me. I sure would appreciate if you would post some photos to get me started. I have replaced the hard drive in it two times so I have been in it a few times. but I am willing to try this if it will help with the noise and be better than the hard drive better in that you don't have to worry about floppies anymore. I can't remember if this was the same thing mike whittle told me about maybe three years ago at that time I do remember what he was talking about was around $50 dollars and it mounted on the back of the CPU. thanks again for your help. If you've already tried changing the hard drive, this shouldn't bee to difficult. Basicly the ide-cf adapter is connected to the ide cable, instead of the hard drive. I'll try to take some photos to post, although at the moment my d8b is pretty much disassembled in atoms, since I'm trying to put power supplies in the desk itself. I do have an HDR I could use to make photos though.

Hi Anders

thanks for your time and help. if it's just that one cable then there is no need to take all screws out of your the HDR just to take one photo. however, I do appreciate you willing to do that to help. I know this may sound silly but can I get the CF card from the same place you posted to get the IDE-CF adapter or does it come with one. I want to order this around Friday or Saturday. oh almost forgot would you get more than one CF card just asking because all this is new to me and I don't know anything about this. thanks again Joe Allen

If you're in the states, I'd use amazon.com.

You'd need this adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Compac ... cf+adapter

for the card I _think_ this would work:
https://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-2GB-Com ... A673262011

I'm not too certain about the cards though, but I think anything around 1-4 gb ought to work.
You only need one card for the d8b. It's another story if you're working on the HDR.
