changing the hard drive to CCF

Hi all

I just switched the hard drive to a CCF. so I am having trouble now with the plugins I can only get two mfx effects to work and its showing all my plugins are unlocked but only the two come up. I also want to ask this a while back I had to change out my brain board card and I have not even turned the d8b on until now. so would the brain board card have anything to do with my plugins not working. the new CCF is showing 5.1 on boot up. I had Mud the guy that made the CCF put 5.1 with 3.0 service pack. thanks for any input on this.

Hey.

By "CCF" do you refer to a Compact Flash card?
If so - are you refering the images I made, or something else?
Which FX cards do you have in your console?

The latest version of the d8b operating system is 5.1
But the latest version of the service pack (which are the plugins) is 3
If munkustraps hack is used, it shouldn't matter that you changed the brainboard.

the reason I ask about the brain board card is that I have 2 d8b one with munkustraps hack and one without the hack
the one without the hack is the one I changed to CFC. let me ask this if one does the hack does it go to the brain card on the d8b. would it help if I took the brain card out of the hacked d8b and put it in the one I changed to CFC?

I'm still a bit unsure about whether you're talking about a compact flash card, or?
If it's a compact flash card: How did you go about that change? Did you reinstall the OS, or?

If I understand it correctly:
The MackieOS operating system running on the pc parts in the cpu-unit checks the brain-board for it's ESN number.
When you originally bought the plugins (and MackieOS 5.1) you get a serial that worked that ESN number.
Munkustraps hack is on the OS side - basicly I think it eliminates the parts of the software that checks the brainboard's ESN number, and instead provides a specific ESN number that we know the plugin serial codes for.
Therefore, if you use his hack, it shouldn't matter which brainboard you use.

Ok. Did you reinstall the d8b on the new CF card, or was it pre-installed when you recieved it?
The question is whether the guy you got it from installed the hack, and whether he installed only the OS, or also the plugins package.
If you are ok with a new installation, you could try the images I made. They contain the hacked OS, and also the plugins.

mud is the guy that makes the kit. he told me the kit came with V5.1 with the plugin package I am not sure about if he installed the hack or not but we did talk about it. thanks for everything

ok let me ask this

can I use the CPU that had the v5.1 hack on it and use it 0n the d8b without the hack what I'm asking is the hack in the CPU or the d8b.

The hack is in the software - so connecting a different desk to a cpu-unit that already has the hack, shouldn't be a problem.
