Well,

I've Talked to Steve Edgar at S&X and he said that if I couldn't get it working they have a couple of bios chips that he can check to see if they are good and sell me one. It would be cool if I could send mine to someone to be re-flashed if that's possible, but at the same time we don't know if it's just the bios or if the chip itself went tits up.

If Marc can find his programmer and pull the bios off of it maybe we could add that to the database for those whom might fall prey to this in the future.

I am sooooo looking forward to Marc's mod!!

No need to extract the BIOS chip - as long as you get the boot A: prompt you can just prepare a boot floppy and reprogram the EEPROM in-circuit. If you're lost with boot floppies, you can find some guidance here.

Swap the memory sticks to make sure that it is indeed a BIOS fault, not one of the other components pulling a data or address line permanent high or low.

The official BIOS and programmer utility for the board is available here, but I don't know whether this official version is supported by the Mackie OS. Anyways, if your BIOS is indeed corrupt you can hardly make it any worse by uploading the release I've linked. It should get you to at least boot your system and start loading the Mackie OS - even if it will hang or not work properly afterwards. If this works, then it is worthwhile to hunt for the right BIOS image file.

S & X Pro Audio to the rescue!! Talked with Steve Edgar last week and he had a BIOS chip there. I bought it and popped it in this morning and everything's up and running again!!

Awesome Casey, that's good news! Couldn't find my old eeprom programmer! Even if I would have found it, it was ISA, not PCI so, it would've been a drag! I just received the faders by the way! Big Thanks!!!

Best,

Marc
