Punch in etc

Postby Phil.c » Tue May 10, 2011 9:34 am

I don't know if anyone has experienced this which has just happen on my gear.

When punching in sometimes record does'nt happen, I have to try two or three times.

The same with just recording, I get about a second of actual recording then it stops, if I then hit record when transport is still moving it records?

It sounds like time for this.

I don't think it's that Peter, in fact for example, if I have punch in points and I run transport from say 30 seconds before these, I have the recording button light on throughout, it just does'nt record at the punch in, but this is intermitent, ie does'nt always happen.

Phil,

I have a similar problem with mine every once in awhile. If I'm recording for a long period of time or I click a window in my DAW, the record button light on the d8b will turn off but I'll still be recording in my software. And sometimes not very often it'll do what you describe.

What are your recording to?

Ahh well then our problems probably aren't that related then. Might be a MTC(MMC) communication problem. Has it always done this or just started? Are the midi connections between the two correct?

Yeah, I was gonna ask, has any MIDI stuff been altered?

HAL doesn't like the part you're punching in, try practicing the part or try a different part; maybe then HAL will let you record.

You could check your automation it may be that something written there is taking it out of record. I don't have a HDR but some recorders have write protect. Check the mix editor window to be sure something is not "in the way".

Sorry this is the best I can do on this one.

Hope this helps,
Michael

I've just noticed...when recording the record button stays lit and recording quits on the HDR, again, as I said before this does'nt always happen.
