HI
I was wondering how is the best way to insert an external fx unit as a mixdown effect. ie mastering as there are no master inserts. I want to mixdown thru an exciter but still come out of the desk digitaly.

Does your exciter have the capability of taking a digital input?

There are many ways to get in and out of this mixer depending on what cards and cables you have etc... my answer is experiment. I don't think there is a best way honestly.

The way I would do it, if your exciter does what I asked about above is to mix through it. In Essence, hook up the digital stereo out to your exciter and then on to your master 2 track deck. The output of the master deck to the digital 1 or digital 2 input on the d8b. You can now mix and select stereo to hear pre exciter or digital to hear post, in real time.
