Replacement Bios Chip?

Does anyone have a replacement Bios chip that i could take off their hands? I am working on a d8b that has a pin missing on this chip. It looks like the previous owner damaged it and tried to solder the pin back on, but it didn't really hold.

Ouch... I wonder if the HDR and d8b bios chips are cross swappable? The reason I ponder this is that there was an upgrade HDR bios chip that you was available from Mackie, they may still sell them but I don't know for sure. Mike Rivers probably knows the answer to this. You might PM him and see what he thinks.

BIOS as in 'BIOS chip on the CPU motherboard'? I guess that would depend on the type of the motherboard, too (older vs. newer), wouldn't it?

Should be able to salvage from an older junk PC, in case you're able to program it.

Didn't Steve T have some of these? It was an upgrade chip or something... Bcarrigg90, check the HDR forum here for MDR to HDR upgrade, his number and E-mail is somewhere in these posts or other posts over at the Mackie d8b forums (HDR forums too) – he is out of the game now but I remember him selling these chips for some reason. You could also PM him I guess.

It is the new board, but unless i can find a direct replacement, i have no way to reprogram it unless that can all be done from the d8b interface, which i'm guessing it probably wouldn't.

Hmm, I don't know about that programmer... I'll take an easier question for less money... I remember the one at the mothership was a bigger affair, seemed like it was a stand alone unit of some sort, though that was many moons ago. I just don't know about the one you posted.

Have you tried to PM Mike Rivers yet? He is smart in these sorts of things.

I have not. But what does programming a new chip actually involve? Is there a mackie standard image that I'd need to copy to it, or is it a matter of changing some standard parameters on the chip?
