Help! nothing on monitor screen (VGA)

Postby miracle_ear » Sun Dec 04, 2011 9:29 pm

Help! no VGA function (no monitor screen)
any suggestions ? anybody run into this before ? it's NOT the Monitor , I tried hooking it up to a "known" good one
subnote
mother board battery needs replacing, the last couple of times I booted up the board I needed to set the BIOS to see the HD to boot from.
however the very last time I did this after setting the bios, it booted up but keyboard and mouse were unresponsive.
I turning it off, restarted it again and have never seen a screen display since. as near as I can tell the florescent display looks normal stating "error #43" (or is it 42 ? ,I can never keep those numbers strait) after a period of "please wait"

There's a jumper on the board to clear the CMOS - have you tried that? You can download the manual for the motherboard and the procedure is described in detail in there.

:) Thanks, Crash! :) I do get some sleep, at times. Actually, I've been at a client's, so sleep has to wait. :)
