Okay, forgive me for being a bit dense on this, but how can you piggyback the new cable to the original and it still work? Call me stupid, but I have pondered this for a bit before posting this. I am quite curious about this, because I would definitely like to extend the cable length for a specific reason. But for some reason, I can't get my brain wrapped around that. The post surgery pain meds are good, but I must either be doofy, or missing something. lol
I will be using a Proliant Rack Server as my recording PC, to which the D8B will be connected and the Rack which houses it and my other outboard rack gear is located in an ajoining room because quite simply the Proliant sounds like a vacuum truck on crack. Is there a limit to how far you can extend the cable, or can you piggyback it to ANY length standard Serial cable? I'd like to be able to go as far as needed to isolate the rack in my environment. Is say, a 50ft. extension possible using a longer standard cable?? I'm still just plain befuddled how you can piggyback the custom cable to the original and it still work. Call me dense, but I need that one explained
