Routing Questions

Postby NigelC » Thu Jan 12, 2012 10:39 am

I have trawled the manual and cannot find definitive answers to this:

1. Can someone confirm I can use the built-in AES/EBU connections (not on a I/O Card) to send Master channel out digitally?

2. If I can (from what I read I assume I can) do I have to set anything or is it always live?

3. If I wanted to bring in audio through the AES/EBU connection to a set of channels, what do I select on a channel as the Insert source, is it SPDIF as I cannot see AES/EBU as an option? I can see you set the Digital In as this but this only applies to the Digital In control room source which I cannot use with the Master L/R?

Basically I need to monitor through the D8B sending DAW master into it soif I Solo/Mute a D8B channel it will silence everything.

Answering my own question here!

Discovered that once you change Digital Input in Setup window AES/EBU becomes an option in the channel insert menu. From what I read in the manual it appears the output to both SPDIF and AES/EBU is always live.
